Kid with Compass

During this popular family activity, participants will explore the less familiar northern section of the Arboretum, north of Gallows Lane. After learning a few basics of navigation with a map and compass, explorers will set off in small groups on self-designed hikes to visit eight rather remote points of interest. A prize will be awarded to the first group that makes it back with treasures scavenged from all eight locations. Wear sturdy walking shoes or hiking boots and long pants to be prepared for off-trail hiking.
