Arboretum Public Tours

Free public tours begin on Sunday, May 2nd and continue through Sunday, October 31st. First Sunday–Campus Collection; second sunday–Caroline Black Garden; remaining Sundays–Native Plant Collection. Meet by the blue sculpture in front of the Olin Science Center at 2:00 p.m.

An Amateur PhotographY Contest

Eleventh Arboretum Annual Amateur Photo Contest. Start shooting now to capture the Arboretum’s beauty in various seasons. The entries may be submitted to the Arboretum office the week of May 17th, and the deadline for all entries is 5 p.m. on May 21st. All pictures must be taken in the arboretum and must have been taken no earlier than January, 2009. Awards will be presented on Members’ and Friends’ Night on Friday, June 11th. Wild Ones

New members are welcome to join the Connecticut Mountain Laurel Chapter of Wild Ones, the only Wild Ones chapter in Connecticut. The group meets the first Saturday of every month in the Olin Science Center Lounge at 10 a.m. Wild Ones promotes the concept of landscaping in harmony with nature and the use of native plants.
